Before you begin, please review the forms that The Benefit Bank supports, as well as situations that may limit your ability to use The Benefit Bank.

Common General Limitations

You cannot use The Benefit Bank to file North Carolina taxes if:

  • You were not a resident of the state of North Carolina on December 31, 2017;
  • You and/or your spouse were a part-year resident of North Carolina AND you and/or your spouse had income from sources other than wages and self-employment;
  • You have to pay a penalty on underpayment of estimated tax;
  • You plan to paper file your North Carolina 2017 tax return;
  • You are filing an Amended return.

North Carolina Tax Credits

You cannot use The Benefit Bank if you want to take these North Carolina tax credits:

  • Adoption Tax Credit
  • Qualified Business Investment Credit
  • Credit for Certain Real Property Donations
  • Credit for Rehabilitating Historic Structures
  • Business-Related Incentives and Energy Tax Credits

Below is a chart of North Carolina tax reporting forms that you can use to prepare your taxes in The Benefit Bank. Any form below that applies to you would have been mailed to you in January for use on your tax return.

You cannot use The Benefit Bank if you received a North Carolina tax reporting form that is not listed in the chart.

The Benefit Bank supports the North Carolina tax forms listed in the chart below. Completed forms can be printed at the end of the North Carolina Taxes section. However, some of these forms have lines that we do not support.

You cannot use The Benefit Bank if you require a form for your tax return that is not listed in this chart.

Common Forms We Do Not Support

The Benefit Bank does not support the North Carolina tax forms and schedules listed below. If you require one of these forms or schedules for your North Carolina tax return, you cannot use The Benefit Bank.
