Refugee Medical and Cash Assistance

Refugee Medical Assistance is Ohio's health coverage program for refugees. Refugees ineligible for Medicaid can receive this benefit for the first eight months after arriving in the U.S. They will receive a monthly card that provides the same medical coverage as provided by the Medicaid program. After refugee medical assistance is no longer available, refugees may be eligible for health care coverage under Medicaid.

Refugee Cash Assistance is Ohio's cash assistance program for refugees. Refugees ineligible for Ohio Works First can receive this benefit during their first eight months after arriving in the U.S.
